Gulla’s Useless Lever - V0.1

The start of your cat’s marble maze journey…

Gulla's Practice Lever allows your cat to learn and practice the art of pulling levers before tackling Gulla's Marble Maze: the infinitely modular, marble maze treat dispensing cat-traption.

• Tests your cat’s cognitive intelligence.
• Mental stimulation for your cat.
• Improves their paw-eye coordination.

Please note that this is a digital 3D printable STL file:

• Only a string and rubber band required.
• Simply mount onto your wall using blue tack or velcro strips.
• Access to all past and future revisions.

Training Tips:

• Start small and reward your cat for even the slightest of efforts (a tap, or even just a move of their hand).
• Use only a single treat per reward. This will ensure that your cat’s satiation levels stay low and that they stay motivated for longer.
• Overtime, gradually increase the reward threshold (a small tap, to a half pull, to a full pull).
• When your cat is able to pull the lever up to the 'locking' point, they have successfully passed!

Extra Challenges:

• Place the module higher up on the wall, get your cat to reach for it!
• Use tighter rubber bands to increase the required strength.
• Print multiple levers and reward your cat only if they pull the levers in succession.

Notes:

• Remember that it may take a LOT of time and patience for your cat to learn.
• Each cat learns at different paces, they will get there but what really matters is consistent training: shorter training sessions everyday are much better than longer ones every few days.
  • 10 treats per session, per cat-traption is the recommended amount, however this will always vary for each cat.

Known Issues:

• Slicer may produce a message saying there is an error with the model. Ignore if happens.
• Sliding block may be difficult to remove once placed in. Recommended to attach string first before inserting into shaft. Rubber band can be attached after.

Future Updates:

• Cup to place treats in and automatically dispensed when lever puled.
• Sturdier design for larger animals such as dogs.
